A Day in the Life. . .

"Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head. . . made my way downstairs and drank a cup and looking up I noticed I was late..." ("Lennon/McCartney")

So goes our everyday life here in suburbia. Not much to blog about these days, so let me see if I can tell you of the little things, which aren't truly news worthy, but you may get a kick out of just the same.

Jacob. Let's see, Jacob has been making some progress with the whole potty training business, but I find more often than not that he simply will not, and I mean NOT, use the potty at home. If anyone has any advise, PLEASE let me know. This child goes every day, day after day, at daycare without an accident and the minute we walk through the door he either wets his pants or screams at me that he will not go to the potty. Keep in mind he's 2 1/2. Gee, can't hardly wait for 3.

Johnathan. I am on new ground with this kid. He's a bully. He shoves, he pushes, he bites, he smacks, and then he looks at you with that grin that just melts you and you laugh and let me tell you how hard it is to tell someone how bad they are when you are laughing. He's a funny little guy, but my oh my where this aggression is coming from. . . I am almost as clueless here as I am with potty training. Boy, can't wait to start potty training this one. He'll probably swing from the shower curtain rod and try to bite me. Joy.

John. FINALLY home after almost two weeks on the road (BLAH!). And now, unfortunately he seems to have caught the stomach bug the boys and I are just getting over. So just when I thought the cavalry had arrived I find, much to my dismay, that he is on the injured list, and thus I will have to care for three kids tonight (big SIGH!)

Me. I've been working on a few little projects at home trying to get the place ship shape. Read a few good books, and have a new one I'm about to start. . . (can I just throw out a shameless plug for the author. . . Robert B. Parker). His books are witty and smart and like meeting with old friends everytime I read one. He's got a few series (Spencer aka "Spencer for Hire" for those of you who may remember this show) and Sunny Randall (girl detective, divorced from a mob guy. . . two of my most favorite things. . . mystery and mob stuff). And then there is the Jesse Stone series, of which I was not a big fan, but may rethink and try to read later.

So that's it for us, for now. I'll try to come up with some better material, but things have been pleasantly quiet, and for us that is a wonderful thing.

Toodles!
