What Am I Not Reading at this Point???

I've been told it's not easy to pick up several different books at one time and read them simultaneously, but I've never found that to be the case...until now. I'm currently reading three books at the same time and have now picked up a fourth, oh help.

I have a passionate love for books. I'm not terribly particular to the form either. I enjoy autobiographies, biographies, fiction, non-fiction, mysteries, romance, sci-fi (Ok, only a little sci-fi). If the book "grabs" me I'm all in, for better or for worse. And boy oh boy, there have been some "worse" books, but I finish them, simply so I can say, "There. Done. Back to the dusty corner you crept out of!"

My current reads are as follows, and in no particular order:

Witness in Death - J.D. Robb. I started this because it is part of an on-going series about a New York Detective named Eve Dallas. It's a futuristic crime series, with a dash of romance. Ok, maybe more of a glob of romance. Nevertheless, I've grown fond of the characters and will most likely finish it. I really enjoy a good series, except when it ends. I went to Hogwarts with Harry, super-sleuthed beside Spencer, hunted down bailjumpers with Stephanie Plum and watched Bella make her choices...I get completely wrapped up in their lives and get lost in their moments, which is pure joy and entertainment for me.

Seabiscuit - Laura Hillenbrand. I'm simply reading this one to see how it compared to the movie. The movie was one of the those feel-good emotionally uplifting pieces, so I'm hoping the book will be the same, but with more detail. I'm a sucker for detail.

Finger Lickin' Fifteen - Janet Evanovich. It's bounty hunting as only Stephanie Plum can do it...completely haphazardly. Book 15 of a 16 book series. Janet Evanovich has a way of making me laugh like no other, and who doesn't need a good laugh now and again?

and now the fourth book, which I have yet to start:

The Reader - Bernhard Schlink. I must say I'm tempted to cheat and watch the movie first, but only because I already have three books going at the moment and another book, might be a bit much. This book came highly recommended from a friend, who is not one to read much or often. Not because she doesn't like reading, but because she simply doesn't have the time. I believe she read this book in three days, which for her is nothing short of a miracle, and tells me it should be worth my time too.

So, what is everyone else reading this summer?
