Deconstruction and Construction

Well, after much waiting (a little over a year) I finally talked John into remodeling the boys' bathroom. It was the only room in the house that I thought needed attention since we moved in but John had other plans up until this past fall. So the following is a series of pictures from start to almost finished. I'm having a hard time getting the right color paint. (I am my mother's daughter, and for those of you who do not know this, my mom used 5, yes FIVE, different shades of paint before she got her living room the color she wanted. . . Lord, I hope I don't use more than two).

Enjoy the photos!

(This first picture shows the room completely gutted. We found out that the floor was bad, support beams and all, so we had to start from scratch. After John busted up the 6 inch concrete floor as well as tearing out the 3 inch cement walls. The deconstruction was tougher than the construction)

(Plumbing - another fun issue. We had to replace all the pipes. Thank goodness for Papa. He and John really did a great job. You can see in this picture the rotten beams. . . wonder how my home inspector missed all this. . . guess he wasn't looking that hard under the house.)
(Window, insulation and a brand new tub. . . YAHOO! Things started to come together once we got the tub in. Don't you like how I say "we"? When in reality it is "John". . . he's done such a great job.)
(WALLS! I have walls. It is a wonderful thing. Note the greenboard, which is actually a nice color, however, this is for function, not style. This part I helped with and let me tell you that is some heavy stuff. John did the taping and mudding though. . . I just watched ;-)
(Tub surround. . .NICE! John later cut out the window and trimmed. Looks awsome!)
