Well, this is the first chance I have had to stop and type anything. Jacob is LOTS better today. Still a bit turned off by drink and food (except candy and chocolate milk. . . go figure). The surgery went extremely well. Dr. P told us his tonsils were HUGE and that we would notice a big change in his voice, not to mention the removal of his adenoids would make a change too. So far, he was right, but not how I imagined it would be. A friend of mine had her adenoids out when she was younger but her voice depended. . . Jacob's has gotten lighter (does that make sense?) Not so nasal.
Yesterday was REALLY tough on Jacob, and no piece of cake for mommy and daddy either. Jacob woke up yesterday and was vomiting from 6 a.m. until noon. I think I lost count around the 7th or 8th time. We think his pain meds were just too strong. So Dr. P's after hours doc called in some anti-nausea meds, unfortunately when you can't take anything orally there's only one other way to take your medicine. All I can say is that it was the most horrible thing I ever had to do to my baby and if I never have to do it again it'll be too soon. I have to say the medicine did the trick and soon he was running around and acting like himself again.
Today he's been quiet. The fever comes and goes and he drinks and eats occassionally, but still not great. Of course I've never had my tonsils out so I can't even comprehend what he's going through, which is terrible. I don't know how bad some things hurt, and what is uncomfortable and what is unbearable.
Thanks to all of you who have called, e-mailed and commented here that you are keeping Jacob and our family in your thoughts and prayers. It means a lot to all of us.
I'll keep you posted on his recovery. . . and thanks again!

Glad to hear he's feeling better - I thought about you guys ALL weekend but was too chicken to call, for fear I'd interrupt some much-needed sleep. :) Let me know if you need anything!
