Applefestivus

So it's the most hallowed eve's of all...Applefest Eve. Ok, technically that was last night, but as I have not yet arrived NOTHING has truly begun. What you may ask is Applefest? It is, by far, the three best days in October...perhaps the three best days of the year. In a wee small town in Northwestern Pennsylvania called Franklin we celebrate all things Apple. I won't bog you down with history and details today, but today know this about Applefest: It is a craft-o-food-o-drink-o-rama of good times with old friends and new. There is a pancake breakfast, tents full of crafts and goodies, live music, a 5K race, horse drawn carriage rides, and so much more. I'm thinking we need to add a fairytale twist to Applefest though...something like the Great Pumpkin meets Santa Clause. Yes! Something like, on All Hallows Eve of St. Applefestivus the Big Apple rises out of a most sincere apple orchard and passes out candy apples and cinnamon sticks to all the good boys and girls. The bad kids get rotten onions in their stockings. It's a just something I'm dabbling at right now...bear with me. ;-) Photos and blog posts to follow!
