O.K., today is the BIG day. The two/three large oak trees in our front yard will be coming down, with mixed reviews from our neighbors. Natalie, who lives next door to us is thankful, as she would probably have her house wiped out (as well as ours) if one of these trees fell down. The neighbors across the street are upset because they are losing a lot of shade. The point is that the trees are a hazard, which I've tried, in vane, to explain to the neighbors who want to "save the trees". One has Sudden Oak Disease and the other two have been infested with Carpentar Ants, which contrary to their clever name do not build, but rather destroy.
Here are some "before" photos of the trees. I'll try to have John take some pictures to document the progress as he will probably be around when all of this takes place.
